Traditional Rug Hooking ...

Traditional rug hooking made use of scraps from worn out wool clothing, cut into narrow strips, and pulled up through burlap.

Marie uses primarily recycled coats and blankets, washed and then over dyed when necessary.

"For more information about how to rug hook, see this video about rug hooking made by SCACA (the Simcoe County Arts & Crafts Association). Marie’s moose rug shown here, appears for a few seconds about 3 minutes into the video.”  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDRbkAVGuh0

Scraps of yarn and fleece are sometimes added for additional texture.
